St. Paul Community Shlicha (Israeli Emissary)
Roni Levin is St. Paul's Young Shlicha, (emissary) from Israel. Prior to coming to Minnesota, the 26-year-old held a job with the Israeli government. Before that, she was a youth program director for the Misgav Regional Council where she was responsible for informal education activities for the youth of the local municipality.
Roni holds a BA in Political Science and Human Resources and served as a training officer in the IDF. As part of her military service, she was responsible for several squad commanders, developing curriculum and program supervision. Upon becoming a lieutenant, Roni was based in a combat engineering unit as a commander’s training supervision officer and a weapons' system instructor.
In high school Roni was involved in the Echud Haklai youth movement as a counselor. She volunteered with different communities in Northern Negev area, working with teens and tutoring kids at risk. She was also involved in the Karmiel-Misgav-Pittsburgh Partnership as a summer camp shlicha for the Pittsburgh JCC.
The Shlicha position is funded by The Federation and the Jewish Agency for Israel, as well as through monetary and in-kind donations from St. Paul Federation beneficiary agencies and other private donors.
