Description: Camp Chi hosts one of the largest camp staff-in-training programs in the country with almost 100 participants. WE are seeking a talented, experienced camp professional to direct the Staff-in-Training (SIT) Program. The goals of the SIT program are twofold 1) To provide general leadership training and skill building for 11th grade campers, and 2) To prepare these oldest campers to be successful, future staff members. Responsibility Highlights: Further develop the curriculum for educational programs, supervise 5 SIT staff, oversee camper interactions, activity/placement schedules, and behavior management, arrange for guest speakers and special events, coordinate community service (internal and external) opportunities, communicate with parents and other supervisors and other all-camp, supervisory responsibilities.
Position Available: 06/07/2009
Salary Range: DOE + room & board
Desired Education Degree/Level: All
Prior Experience: The SIT Director must be at least 21 years old. Significant previous camp experience, preferably in a leadership development program, is required along with the desire to work with teens and college-aged staff. The best applicants are self-motivated, enthusiastic, organized, creative, flexible and demonstrate sound judgment. This is the perfect position for someone who is eventually seeking a career in camping or wants to move to the next level.
